A Decent,Funny Movie with a good cast
I know Jessica Simpson was horrible in this movie, but hey! What moviewas she ever good in? Dane Cook does a good role, and Dax Shepard waswhat made me love this movie. He was hilarious, and the only movie i sawwith him before Employee of the Month was Without A Paddle. Overall, agood movie suitable for at least six stars. I wonder why Dax didn’t wina award for this movie. I also thought Efren Ramirez was hysterical. The movie is lacking some key elements of a good movie, but people takethis movie too seriously….i mean, come on. Its just another PG-13movie with a lot of rude remarks. But if you want to see a good moviewith Dane Cook, Dax Shepard, Andy Dick and Harland Williams watch thismovie…..you cant be disappointed.
one of the funnier movies i’ve seen in a while despite bad reviews
this movie was HIlarious. i was reading a site and it said the moviewas barely tolerable. they’re idiots. trust me. this movie was in factwitty and fun. if you’re up for stupid comedy that everyone SHOULDlove, go with this one its pretty gosh darn funny. i definitely givekudos to dane cook and for whoever cast him. i didn’t mind jessicasimpson BUT i do believe there were better people to play the part. daxshepard was as always funny so if you’ve seen his movies you know whatto expect from his performance. everything about this was perfectincluding the soundtrack. if you don’t watch this movie i’ll crybecause you hurt my feelings.
An awesome flick if you’ve ever worked years in retail.
The movie Employee of the month is absolutely fantastic. I myself havebeen in retail for 19 years this movie pegs some of what employees gothrough on a day to day basis. Dane cook was awesome, Dax Shepard wasgreat and so was Jessica Simpson. There couldn’t have been a bettercast of characters, they all played their rolls well. I’m addicted tothis movie for the retail part of it and for the hilarious story line.Everyone needs to give it a chance especially if you’ve ever worked ina retail store. The more I watch it, the more I fall in love with thismovie. Once again this movie deserves way more credit than what peopleare giving it. You probably won’t understand so well if you have notever worked in retail. I met my husband through my job at a retailstore. This movie is definitely under rated.
This is one smart film, full of parody and satire. The largelyun-celebrated cast add to the low brow, laid back mood expertly createdby director Coolidge. Accolades are shared equally amongst a talentedcast who rarely put a foot wrong. The secret to being funny is not toappear to be trying hard, and that is where this movie scores high.Special mention goes to Efren Ramirez, whose trademark understatedperformance effortlessly steals many a scene.
A story that could easily have been set in any one of a dozen glamorousand untouchable occupations, is inspirationally transferred to anenvironment that is familiar to most viewers, immediately making themfeel at ease with the characters. Attention to detail in every sceneprovides for a polished, slick piece of film making that, if itaddressed more "serious" issues, would be worthy of an Oscar.
This is the sort of movie you can watch over and over because it isprofessionally made and treats the audience with respect.
Movie Of The Month
For customers of Super Club, the largest high-volume, bulk-discountretailer in the country, membership has its privileges. For workers atthe cavernous store, the most coveted honor is the "Employee of theMonth" award, and having one’s photo immortalized on the wall of famein the staff lounge.
Enter Zack Bradley (Dane Cook) and Vince Downey (Dax Shepard), twoultra competitive Super Club workers whose ten years of employment haveresulted in drastically different career paths. While Vince — with theaid of his trusty sidekick Jorge (Efren Ramirez) — has advanced tobecome head cashier and winner of 17 consecutive "E of M" awards, Zackis the ultimate slacker whose scruffy appearance and laid back attitudehas made him popular with his colleagues, but kept him stuck in thelowly ranks of the store’s box boys. The duo’s longtime rivalry comesto a bitter head when Amy (Jessica Simpson) — a beautiful new cashierwith a reputation of only dating "Employee of the Month" winners –transfers to the store, immediately becoming the object of both Zackand Vince’s affection and often comical gamesmanship. While Vinceinstantly impresses Amy with his crowd pleasing, flamboyant stylebehind his checkstand register, Zack’s feeble attempts to charm hisbeautiful new co-worker quickly backfire against him. With the race towin Amy’s affections slipping away, Zack determines his only chancerests in winning the store’s next "Employee of the Month" award. A veryfunny movie. MUST-SEE!!
I got this thinking that I would regret seeing anything with JessicaSimpson. It was excellent! Even she played her part well!!! My husbandand I totally dug this movie and were happy that we rented it. Everyoneplayed their part well, I loved the managers, the way they acted andthen the fear of ‘big brother’ who turned out to be on the ‘short’ sidewho was quite abusive towards his little big brother. My favorite lineswas ‘home slice’ and ‘how dare you this is an ’81 Honda!’ rant. Funnyfrom beginning to the end and definitely one that had a happy ending. Ican’t even pick a favorite part of the movie because there are toomany, definitely in the beginning when they were checking out Simpson’scharacter and looking up her records, that was funny. Great movie andwell acted out parts. Definitely would suggest people to look at it,though I’m not sure why they did not do well with reviews. Look forwardto seeing them act again in another funny movie.
Just a fun nice movie to watch, watch for the humor and daftness not the drama… comedies are shockingly not drama’s =O
Read some of the comments and i was PML…. so many people were like…unreal unreal unreal UN REAL! and i am just there like its a comedywhat do you expect? i get most of the people on here are either stupidkids or teens who know nothing about the movie industry or how a movieis made… but know we have gone into a new era of ignorance ofgenre… literally i am disappointed with man kind now… fair enoughif you don’t find this movie funny naturally then i respect that but ifyou look at a movie like this which has a blatant image showing of thatis going to be quirky and daft and think "hm… this looks like itcould be entertaining i mean look how serious and dramatic and welllaid out the movies plot is laid out" then i am sorry you are justplain stupid. a comedy is a genre of entertainment that is there tomake you laugh through different variations of styles… comedies havenever been about the seriousness or realism it has been based of thedaftness or the shock or the unexpected actions of a character in acertain situation or to weird you out or see something in aunimaginable way… its not there to create an emotionally engagingstory like titanic.. the only comedy i know that was actually an comedynot just a action or drama flick that throws one or two jokes here andthere that i am aware f that has won an Oscar is Forest Gumps… ihaven’t seen any other comedy… proper comedy that has won a Oscarbesides that movie… if we carry on as a generation ignorant of genresas well as how hard people actually make movies then i am concernedwith what movies people will be able to make these days… its a wonderwe have remakes or shitty drama wannabes…
I saw this as a sneak preview and I thought it was great. The crowd inthe theater seemed to agree with me. It won’t win an Oscar but it was alot of fun. Jessica isn’t the greatest actress but she fit the partwell, an attractive blonde with a nice personality. She was showingher… um… assets a bit but it wasn’t gratuitous. You could actuallytake the kids to this one and not be afraid that they might seesomething they shouldn’t. I was very disappointed with the "40 year oldvirgin" because they took a great idea and drug it through the gutterwhere as this one was a cute idea and kept it mostly clean. I amsurprised that they paid for Jessica Simpson… the movie has thefeeling like an independent production… which is a good thing.
My sister won some tickets from Myspace so we went up to LA and notexpecting much, we were pleasantly surprised. We love it and hadn’tlaughed that hard since 40 year old Virgin and Wedding Crashers. It hassolid laughs all the way through. It’s also a lot smarter than Iexpected it would be and reminded me of sort of an Office Space meetsVirgin. Dane Cook will be a movie star after this. His stand up is okaybut after this movie, I think he’ll be the next big thing. And DaxShepard was hilarious. Even Andy Dick, who I don’t always love becausehe’s so over the top, does a great job. My sister likes Jessica andalthough she’s hot, I’ve never cared about her. But she’s pretty goodin the movie, so I have to say she’s not bad at all. My favorite guywas the store manager. Hiliarious! I’ve seen him somewhere but can’tthink where. But by the end of the movie, everything he said waskilling me. Best of all, we have been quoting the movie ever since andthat’s only after seeing it once. " This is an ’81 Honda! "You’re thelowest of the low" and "bing bing! Turkey’s Done!" It’s awesome.
I think it was amazing.
I loved this movie. I don’t know why people don’t like it. It washilarious. Andy Dick cracked me up and Dane Cook was so freaking cute.He is so funny. This movie just make me love him even more. I loveJessica Simpson in it too. I would go watch it again if I had time. Ithink it’s worth your money. People that didn’t find it funny reallyjust need to grow a sense of humor. People these days don’t really knowhow to laugh because they’re so uptight. That’s just my opinion. I’mglad that my money is going into the box office. It was worth my time.I didn’t really ever stop laughing I don’t think. If you don’t like itwhatev just give it a try that’s all I’m saying.
